The International Cocoa Agreement of 2010 states that :
The International Cocoa Organization shall act as a global information centre for the efficient collection, collation, exchange and dissemination of information on all factors relating to cocoa and cocoa products
ICCO's objective is therefore to facilitate access to different information tools and cocoa experts that will help to solve any information request coming from the cocoa community.
The library at the ICCO Secretariat holds a unique and international reference collection on cocoa matters. Diverse subjects are covered, from cocoa cultivation and marketing methods in producer countries, to shipping, trading and chocolate manufacturing.
The ICCO Library collection comprises more than 5,000 books, reports, theses, research papers, trade and scientific periodicals etc. The Library also houses statistical information on world cocoa production, prices, imports and exports, consumption and stocks of cocoa from 1958 to the present day. This collection is available for consultation by prior appointment .
The ICCO Library houses a specialised database with articles and book references since the beginning of ICCO's activities. The Cocoa Database contains more than 30,000 records, from 1968, which are updated daily.
