ICCO Development Projects

The ICCO is co-operating with other institutions and the Common Fund for Commodities on the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving the structural conditions of cocoa markets and enhancing long-term competitiveness and prospects in the world cocoa economy.

The ICCO is co-operating with public and private agencies in Member countries, with the Common Fund for Commodities and other donor agencies on the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving the structural conditions in cocoa production and trade.

The Common Fund for Commodities aims to promote global action to improve market structures in international trade in commodities of interest developing countries.

Feasibility study on the generic promotion of cocoa consumption in the Russian Federation. RUSSIA 01 May 2001 The general objective of the project was to provide a basis for determining the feasibility, strategy and instruments for undertaking a generic-promotion campaign for cocoa in the Russian Federation.
Supply chain management for total quality cocoa: pilot phase. COTE D'IVOIRE 01 Oct 2001 The practical objective of the project is to broaden and increase the supply of cocoa beans of "liquor" quality and to bring about a general improvement in the quality of beans for the processing industry.

COTE D'IVOIRE 04 Jun 2007 The main objective of the project is to hold a workshop of stakeholders in the cocoa sector to present the results of the Witches’ Broom Project, then to build a consensus on the approach and content of a global level project to address the threat and impact of cocoa pests and pathogens.
