The NGOs/farmers representatives in the Preparatory Meeting in Abidjan made suggestions to the comments: What has to be added and what are the different roles of stakeholders. Please look at our document.

Working with cocoa farmers and farmers cooperatives I understand the most basic needs of farmers revolve around education. The kind of education that will empower them to take decisions that will benefit them. The Farmers Field School model in Nigeria has helped significantly in areas where these schools exist. These should be scaled up and also scaled out to expand the scope and coverage of the FFS. The FFS has brought sustainable results!
