The Agreement was adopted on 13 February 2026 at Geneva by the United Nations Cocoa Conference for the Negotiation of a Successor Agreement to the International Cocoa Agreement, 2010, as amended.

The International Cocoa Agreement, 2026 (ICA 2026) succeeds the International Cocoa Agreement, 2010. It was adopted at the United Nations Cocoa Conference held on 13 February 2026 in Geneva, under the auspices of UNCTAD, alongside the 40th Extraordinary Session of the International Cocoa Council. The agreement establishes an open-ended framework — replacing the fixed-term renewal model of previous agreements — and sets new priorities including ensuring a living income for cocoa producers, promoting local processing, and integrating economic, social and environmental sustainability.
